Blur
“B.L.U.R.E.M.I.” appears to be a comment about genericness in popular music. The title of the song is a combination of Blur and EMI, the label the band were signed onto and one of the big four record companies at the time. This can be seen in the heavily processed and repetitive vocals, especially the chorus, which sounds as if the band has been squeezed out of a sound machine. Everything about the album sounds desperate and chaotic. B.L.U.R.E.M.I. is the squally end to old Blur. -Graham Coxon, 13 Special Edition
