“X” (Multiply) is a song about immigration, overpopulation, and the Armenian Genocide of 1915 (a topic that is touched on in many of SOAD’s songs). The 2006 movie Screamers, which is about the Armenian Genocide, features the band members of SOAD, primarily Serj Tankian. This song was written prior to the self-titled album System of a Down, but was held back until Toxicity so it could be worked upon. It was played live a few times between 1997 and 2001, however.
