7 Min Freestyle

Over a menacing instrumental, this freestyle finds 21 discussing “licks, hits” and “sticks” with an aggressive yet somewhat satirical delivery. Featuring an abundance of one-liners – 21 Savage referring to someone as a “shrimp” and insulting another by calling him a “good dude” are common examples of the tongue-in-cheek motives integral to the successful composition of this lengthy banger. There are some serious moments in the song, however – involving 21’s history, materialism, and violence; accompanied by his distaste for those who depend on external parties for their money. 21 has referred to people as being a “shrimp” multiple times in an earlier freestyle. The term can – by definition be used as a derogatory term toward a “person who is small in stature” and not their crustacean counterparts. This song was previewed April 26, 2017, via Twitter.
